Winter Warmer Chunky Tomato Soup [Dec. 7th, 2005|02:09 pm]

What you need

Tin of tomatos (cut or uncut)
2 cloves of garlic (or 3 if you like it!)
Half a large onion
medium potato
Olive oil (or olivio butter)
tomato sauce
branston pickle
salt and pepper
1 1/2 pint of vege stock

What to do
First of chop up the onion and grate your potato. Crush your garlic then heat the butter/oil in a large saucepan. Add the onions and brown them. Add the garlic the tin of tomatos and the basil. If they are full tomatos then use a potato masher to squidge them up. Add the stock and stir in some tomato sauce. Add the salt and pepper and simmer for 10 mins. Then add the potato and stir simmering for another 10 mins. Add some branston to taste (if you dont like branston you could use something else thats tangy). Serve in a bowl, add some butter or just have heavily buttered bread like i do :)

Quick and easy and was just experimentation..if you want to add heat say you have a cold put in tobasco sauce!!
